Why I Started to Learn Japanese
I have always been interested in Japanese culture and the language itself, since Japanese shares myriad of similarities with Korean (my first language). Of course, the structure and some words were identical. However, after learning Japanese for four weeks, I now realized that Japanese and Korean have developed in their own paths, that they are so different. Memorizing Hiragana was not enough to read a simple Japanese blog post. I am very excited to learn Katakana and Kanji furthermore to be more fluent in Japanese, and hopefully utilize my Japanese skill while I travel Japan next summer.
